Victor Sylvester Obituary

Victor N. Sylvester of Rolling Meadows A memorial Mass for Victor N. Sylvester, 79, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Colette Church, 3900 Meadow Drive, Rolling Meadows. Born Oct. 4, 1929, in Chicago, to the late Victor and Sophie Sylvester, he died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at his home. He had worked as a security guard at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines for many years and was a member of the Rolling Meadows Senior Center. He was the husband of Marianne (nee McDade), whom he married June 14, 1952; father of Vicki Lynn (Robert) Knutson; grandfather of Thomas Pera, Jennifer (Michael) Mittman and Ashley (Michael) Wiebe; great-grandfather of Brooke Mittman; and brother of Rosemary Fish. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association. For information, Meadows Funeral Home, Rolling Meadows, 847-253-0224.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I worked with Vic for many years at Holy Family in the emergency room. He was a wonderful and kind individual. He will truely be missed by many!!
