I worked with Whitney and her mom at the animal shelter back in the 70s. She, like her mom, was a kind, gentle, happy soul who lit up the room with her smile and sense of humor. She sure had a crush on a certain young police officer who would stop in every so often! So sorry to find out she has passed away. One of my favorite memories of those days at the shelter was Whitney in total hysterics when a whole fly paper strip fell and became hopelessly stuck in my hair. A lifetime later it still makes me smile. My deepest sympathies.

I had worked with Whitney for 36 years at IDES. She was an excellent employee and great coworker. We have grown together while working and raising a our families. She would light up whenever she would talk about her daughter, Lindsey. I am so sadden that this past year was a rough road for her and the entire family. Whitney was a strong and courageous person, not only through her sickness, but in everything she did. Her journey has ended in this world but she was comforted in knowing she will have peace in heaven. Love you Whitney. You will are missed. Kathi Burhite

Whitney and my sister Carron Turpin were close friends growing up. I remember many happy times when they were together at our house. She was much loved by our entire family. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. My prayers are with you now.
