WILLIAM A. FLEIG

1938 - 2021

William A. Fleig, 82, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at his home in Libertyville. He was born June 9, 1938 in Syracuse, NY, was adopted and raised by Arnold T. Fleig and Anne Degen Fleig in Oklahoma City, OK, and was a graduate of Yale University. He moved to the Chicago area in 1969 and Libertyville in 1978. He was a member of the Congregation Or Shalom in Vernon Hills and an editor of foreign language textbooks at Scott Foresman & Co for more than 30 years. He is survived by his two sons and their partners, Bill Fleig (Ramsey Silberberg) and Alex Fleig (Carly Levitz); as well as five adoring grandchildren; Sadie, Theo, Iris, Prospero and Miriam. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Fleig on Feb. 23, 2017. Virtual services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 7:30 pm.
