William Leding Obituary

William B. Leding Jr. a longtime resident of Mundelein The family of William B. Leding Jr. of New Port Richey, Fla., will be holding a private memorial at a later date. Born Dec. 8, 1914, in Deer Park, he died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice. William was a Marine Corps veteran. He retired from the Village of Mundelein, where he served with the Public Works Department for many years. He was a member of Magnolia Valley Golf Club and St. James Catholic Church. Survivors include his son, Thomas (Carolyn) of Spring Hill, Fla.; daughter, Tamara (Daniel) Schafernak of Mundelein; grandchildren, Heather Leding, and Matthew and Mallory Kolpin; and sisters, Marcella of Schnectady, N.Y. and Sister Rita Rose of Lake Zurich. His loving wife of 54 years, Dolores, preceded him in death on April 12, 2004. Memorials may be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 6801 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653. Arrangements were made by the National Cremation Society, New Port Richey, 727-937-4259.

Tami, I only met your dad a few times but in those times I met a fabulous, fun and happy man. He seemed to live such an awesome and full life. He loved you very much and with you being by his side put him at peace....You were both lucky to have each other!!! Dan, Tami, Matt and Mal, my thoughts and prayers are with you all...I love you very much!!
