WILLIAM RIGBY Obituary

William C. Rigby Jr. of Wheeling Memorial visitation for William C. Rigby, Jr. formerly of Highland Park and Clinton, Iowa, will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 noon Saturday, July 31, at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment will be private. Born July 8, 1942, in Chicago, to W. Charles and Rebecca (nee Adams) Rigby Sr., he died Monday, July 26, 2010, at his home in Wheeling. Before his retirement in 2007, William worked for New York Life Insurance, as a salesman for 15 years, at the Great Frame Up in Buffalo Grove and for 10 years in the customer service department at Federal Express. He was a member of the Elks Club in Quincy and past president of the Jaycees in Clinton, Iowa. William enjoyed collecting antiques, movies and nutcrackers. He loved Christmas and collected many Christmas items, also known as "Mr. Christmas" to his family. He loved his family and was loved by all. William is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol Rigby (nee Glon), whom he married on April 2, 1988, in Des Plaines; his children, Bill Rigby of Knoxville, Tenn., JoAnn Jackson of Waukegan and Sean (Dawn) Rigby of Oglesby; his grandchildren, Ashley Dryden, Heather (Stephen) Brown, Tyler Rigby, Austin Knapp and Amanda Jackson; his sister, Judy Rigby, his stepbrother, Jerry (Kerry) Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Norma Rigby; his brother- in-law, Robert (Laura) Glon; his nieces and nephews, Tom (Gina) Osborne, Roger Rigby, Jr., Wendy (Louis) Belletini, Nikki (Bob) Jones, John (Ursula) Angel and Ray and Dan Glon; and his stepmother, Betty Rigby. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roger Rigby; and his sister-in-law, Judy Angel.
