Mr. Arthur James McElderry

MUNFORD - Funeral services for Arthur James McElderry, 78, will be Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky McKinney, the Rev. Allen Arnold and the Rev. Anthony Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hall Grove Church Cemetery, Munford. Mr. McElderry will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Mr. McElderry died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center. He was educated in the Talladega County School System and attended the Tuskegee Institute. He was self-employed as a mason. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Munford where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mary McElderry; brothers, Willie, Jimmy and John McElderry; and sister, Evelyn Mosley. Survivors are his wife, Leola McElderry of Munford; sons, Mack (Helen) McElderry, Eddie (Beverly) McElderry all of Munford, Freddie (Teresa) McElderry, Samuel (Gloria) Richardson all of Talladega, Issac (Rosalyn) Richardson of Oxford, S.T. (Ethel) Richardson of Hurtsboro; sisters, Estella Turner of Knoxville, TN and Juliette McElderry of Munford; and 26 grandchildren. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.
