Mr. Charles Burt

TALLADEGA - Funeral services for Charles Burt, 48, will be Saturday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. at Peace Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Robert Duncan, Pastor. The Rev. Hardy Reynolds Jr., the Rev. Robert Duncan, the Rev. John Ragland, and Apostle Darryl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Burt Cemetery, Talladega. Mr. Burt will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Mr. Burt died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. He was educated in the Talladega City School System and attended Central Alabama Community College. He was a presser for Palm Beach Corporation and attended Kingdom Life Ministries. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1979. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Helen Burt. Survivors are fiancé, Azelena Griffin of Talladega; daughters, Marteen Streeter of Japan and Angela (Melvin) Martin of Anniston; sons, Martez Streeter and Terry (Kimberly) Judkins both of Talladega; brothers, James Burt Jr. of Birmingham, John (Lualice) Burt, and Joseph (Joyce) Burt both of Talladega; sisters, Beulah (Howard) Long, Dorothy (Antrone) Curry, and Sharon (Warren) Faulkner all of Talladega; mother-in-law, Lela Judkins of Talladega; and 11 grandchildren. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.
