Donald Donahoo Obituary

It is with great regret and sadness that the family and friends of Donald Lamar (Duck) Donahoo announce his going home to be with the Lord on Oct. 6, 2010 at the age of 66 years. He was born April 28, 1944. He has lived in Pell City for 20 years. Donald was born and raised in Harpersville. He was a member of Harpersville First Baptist Church since childhood. Donald will be missed by many people, he touched many lives. Donald was in the Tire business for 35 years, Donald and his wife Linda owned several retail and wholesale tire stores in Birmingham, Talladega and Harpersville. Donald enjoyed working with the public and was very successful with the work he loved. He worked hard for many years before he was forced to retire due to heart and kidney failure. Donald loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Theo Donahoo and Marjorie Donahoo; brother, Charles Wayne Donahoo; and son, Johnny Brian Tyler. Donald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Donahoo; sons, Shannon Donahoo and Jeffery Wade Tyler; and a grandson, Chase Donahoo. He is also survived by his daughter, Yevonne MacEwen (Mark); granddaughters, Lexie and Camryn MacEwen; special great-grandchildren in family, Abby, Ally and Ivan; special sisters-in-law, Vicki McArthur and Becky Strickland; brothers-in-law, Ricky Barber (Donna) and Randy Barber; special aunt, Bernice Donahoo; many nieces and nephews that were all special and loved; special family, Carmen and Phillip Thornton, Jessie, Jonah and Jaden; special lifetime friend, Jimmy Frazier; special family and friend, James Lloyd Donahoo; special friend, Stevie Prince, Frankie Prince; friends and neighbors, Bobby and Ruth Davis, Dewayne Davis, Joyce Bell. Funeral services will be held at Harpersville First Baptist Church in Harpersville, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Billy C. Gray from Victory Christian Center, Pell City, officiating. Burial in Harpersville Cemetery, Harpersville. Visitation will be held prior to the service 1 until 3 p.m. Would like to give special thanks to Wolf Creek South Fire Department and paramedics for their help and concern during Donald's illness. Pallbearers will be Shane McGee, Mark MacEwen, Phillip Thornton, James Lloyd Donahoo, Junior Frazier, Chick McCranie. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Prince and Jimmy Frazier.
