Eunice Odelle Bain

A celebration of life for Eunice Odelle Bain, age 96, of Pell City, will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The Reverend Sherri Reynolds will be officiating the celebration of Miss Bain's life. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Miss Bain passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, James N. & Ida Belle Bain; brothers, Julian Bain, Ralph Bain, Gordon Bain, Harold Bain, Charles Bain; sister, Mildred Wright. Miss Bain is survived by her long-time best friend and sister-in-law, Helen Bain; nieces, Carolyn (Ron) DeThomas, Tracy (Jonathan) Whitten and Brody, Patti (John O.) Sims, Julia (Dale) Skelton, Barbara (Joe) Smith, Donna (Joe Ed) Voss; nephews Randall Bain, Tommy (Kyle) Bain, and Jim Wright, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Miss Bain's love for her family and great faith in the Heavenly Father and His Word, were reflected in the many poems that she wrote throughout her lifetime. One of her most popular poems, entitled "My Legacy", is currently being used by Lakeside Hospice, for their memorial bookmarks given to family members. A book of her many poems was published in 1999 and is entitled "Special Poetic Memories of My Life". Odelle Bain was also a very talented artist. her oil, acrylic, and water color painting of wildlife, landscapes, portraits, and greeting cards, were enjoyed by people throughout the United States. Her greeting cards were so popular that many people who purchased them could not part with them, and would frame them instead. Pallbearers will be Ron DeThomas, Tommy Bain, Mark Seals, Eric Sims, Barry Skelton and Dale Skelton. Honorary pallbearers are Randall Bain, Jimmy Wright, John O. Sims, Joe Ed Voss, Alan Bannister, Steven Bannister and Jonathan Whitten and Matt Skelton. The family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Lakeside Hospice, Pell City, AL or the placement of Bibles through the Gideons. The family cannot express enough their appreciation to the staff of Lakeside Hospice for the love, support and outstanding care of Miss Bain during her illness, as well as to each family member that cared for her. You are truly God's angels in the flesh. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
