Genie McMeans Obituary

Mr. Genie McMeans was born to the union of Richard McMeans and Josephine Pugh on January 17, 1952 in Butler County, Alabama. Mr. Genie McMeans united with the Kingston Baptist Church at an early age. He was united in holy matrimony to Carol McMeans, three children were born into this union. Mr. McMeans was employed at Butler County Schools and was a construction worker. Mr. Genie McMeans departed this earthly life on February 4, 2021 in his home. He was preceded in death by his son Genie McMeans, Jr.; his parents, Richard McMeans and Josephine Pugh; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Swain; father-in-law, Thomas James Swain; three brothers, Richard McMeans of Butler County, Issac McMeans, Leonard Joe McMeans both of Talladega County; and one sister, Mary Alice Boldware of Butler County. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 44 years, Carol McMeans; two daughters, Sharon McMeans-Lukiri (Dennis) of Hampton, Georgia, Glenda Edison McMeans (Samuel) of Maryland; two bothers, Robert Earl McMeans, Charlie Earl McMeans both of Talladega County; four sisters, Glenda McMeans, Annie Margaret Pate both of Butler County, Brenda Powell (Nathaniel), Lula Pearl Johnson both of Talladega County; seven grandchildren, Avery Johnson, Dobbin Johnson, Kevin Lukiri, Samiah Edison, Seth Edison, Paige Edison, and Gabrielle Edison. A grave side service for Mr. Genie McMeans will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Kingston Baptist Church Cemetery, Alpine, Alabama. Sims Funeral Service directing.
