My heart felt sympathy! He must have passed away just after my Statistics class ended! I just found out and my heart sunk. I only had him for one class but he had a huge influence on me. I was terrified to take his class and tried to get out of it the entire year leading up to it, but was told I could not get my masters without it. I told him so, too, at class start. He calmed me and showed me the way thru. But his greatest influence was encouraging me to go after my dreams of research and how statistics would help me do that. I needed that encouragement at that time of my life! I have now dedicated my website that I just launched to him! I got an A in Statistics - he got an A for angel! Dear Valerie and family - very sad, and sorry for your loss. Gerry always had a smile on his face ( I love this picture), and enjoyed the company of others. I know that his tenure at CSC was another chapter in his career, but I also know that he made many, many friends within CSC as well as his clients. We all enjoyed his company, whether working on an assignment, or better yet at one of the Social gathering where he would enjoy the company of his co-workers. He will be missed, but we are all blessed to have him part of our lives.

We now know what it must feel like to be hit by a train. By the grace of God we are still standing. There are no words to express how heartbroken we are, and at the same time how incredibly lucky we are to have had Jerry as our brother and uncle. He has taken a piece of us with him and has left a piece of himself forever in our hearts. We miss you so much. We love you.

Jim and I are so very sorry for your lose. We didn't know Jerry long enough in the short time he lived in Talladega, but he was such a easy, sweet and caring person to get to know. Always greeted you with his large smile. One short story, my husband had hip replacement and home from the hospital the same week Jerry's and Valerie's moving van arrived with all their belongings and Jerry must have gone thru everything they owned to find a crane he had to bring to our house for Jim to use. What a caring man, thinking of others. Wish we had all had more time with Jerry. God Bless you Valerie and family. Very soon may your tears be replaced with a big smile every time you think of him!
