Glen Wallenfang Obituary

Glen David Wallenfang, 82 of Madison, AL died January 12, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 23, 1941 in Iron Mountain, MI and moved to Childersburg, AL in 1952. He attended Childersburg schools and graduated from CHS in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years, Carolyn Giddens in 1962. Butch began his career as a machinist in various shops. In 1974, he started his own business called New Mac Precision Machining Company and operated New Mac for 41 years till 2015. Glen (Butch) is preceded in death by his parents, David & Florence Wallenfang and Sisters, Jeanette Wallenfang Istre and Barbara Wallenfang. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Giddens Wallenfang; 2 daughters, Cecilia Hays (Eric), Toni Shumate; Brother Peter Wallenfang (Linda); Grandchildren, Dr. Matt Mitchell (Rachel), Dr. Charlsie Prein (Kelsey), Cody Shumate (Hannah), Alesia Shumate (Matt), Shawn Wallenfang and 7 Great grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Curtis and Sons funeral home, Childersburg, AL. Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with services following. Burial was at Greenhill Cemetery. Reception followed burial at Rainwater House in Childersburg, AL courtesy of the CHS Class of 1962.
