John Thomas Tiffany

Memorial service for John Thomas Tiffany, 66, of Talladega will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Father Ben Turnage officiating. John died at his home on September 30, 2013. He was born in Dixon, IL in 1946. He is survived by his wife, Selena Freeman Tiffany; his brother, Guy Mercer Tiffany, Naples, FL; and his children, Tiffany T. Russell, Kansas City, KS, Tracey L. Lowe, Kansas, KS, Justin Wade Tiffany, Phoenix, AZ, Jane Anne Freeman, Talladega; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Mercer Tiffany and his father, Orville Tiffany. John was employed at AIDB from 1981-2002. He was the superintendent of the New York School for the Deaf from 2002-2010. John was a member of the Board of Directors of the Conference of Educational Administrators and was active in many state and professional associations. He received his PhD in education leadership from UAB. John was an avid Chicago Bears and Auburn football fan. He was very devoted to his co-workers and students. John was bigger than life and his presence always filled the room.
