Leo Hall was born in Camden, Alabama on October 12, 1944, to the union of Mr. David Hall, Sr. and Mrs. Harriet Jones Hall. He and his family relocated to Talladega, Alabama when he was a young boy. Leo confessed Christ at an early age at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Talladega, Alabama. He was educated in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Talladega County training School Class of 1963. After graduation, Leo migrated to Toledo in search of better job opportunities, which is where he resided for more than fifty years. This relocation landed him a job as a Water Technician with the City of Toledo Water Maintenance Department where he remained a faithful and dedicated employee for thirty years. In 2010 Leo made the decision to retire and enjoy what life had to offer him. He had also received a skill of hands-on training in auto mechanics. He soon expounded on that training and completed courses to become a certified auto mechanic. Leo could provide an accurate maintenance need for one's vehicle by that person simply explaining the nature of their car issues. He maintained his own auto mechanic shop until his health began to decline in 2018. Leo remained an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Fremont, Ohio under the leadership of Rev. William Holmes through August of 2018. He served as an ordained deacon and performed numerous needed tasks at the church. After returning home to Talladega, Alabama in 2018, he continued serving the Lord and united with Rushing Springs Missionary Baptist Church attending services as often as he was physically able to do so. Leo was known as "Tom Cat" to many but was affectionately known as "Devil" by Semolia. A jokester by nature, his smile and chuckle would light up a room with just his presence. He was very kind-hearted and would help anyone in need. Leo thoroughly enjoyed watching wrestling and the Dallas Cowboys on television. He took great pride and pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. We could go on and on with many memories and other accomplishments of Leo, but his life has truly spoken for him. Though his earthly life has ended, his memories will always be celebrated by those who loved and cared for him. On Saturday, August 13, 2022, Leo Hall, Sr. completed his earthly journey when he answered the Lord's call as he beckoned him into his presence while under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. Once the call was complete, Leo was reunited with his parents, Mr. David Hall, Sr. and Mrs. Harriet Kelton; grandmother, Mrs. Ada Hicks; brother, Mr. Eddie Hall; grandson, Mr. Leo DeVante Hall; brother-in-law, Mr. Johnny Scales; niece, Jacquelyn Scales and nephew; Canden T. Kelton. He leaves behind fun loving memories to be cherished by his children, Cynthia Stallworth, Leo Hall, Jr., Andrell Hall and Monique (Shaun) Jeffries; his lovely siblings, Mr. David (Armitine) Hall, Jr., Mrs. Bertha Scales, Pastor Frank (Apostle Sandra) Kelton and Mrs. Carrie (Kenneth) Wallace; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Two people we offer great praise and thanks to for being supportive and nurturing to Leo during his time of need are his best friend, Mr. Otis Wyatt and a special member of our family for many years, Ms. Semolia Gaston. Semolia is auntie to some of us and "Sis" to others. Semolia we want you to know that you will continue to be family to us and nothing will change our relationships and bonds that we have with each other. Semolia we love you and are certain "Devil" did as well. S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory Talladega Sheffton M Goodson 256.480.3177
