A Homegoing Celebration Remembering the Life of Mrs. Nettie Ruth Cross Whitson, 65, of Talladega, Alabama, will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Matthew Leonard, Sr. officiating. Interment will commence immediately following the services at Pointer Family Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Nettie Ruth Cross was born to the parentage of the parentage of the late Dan Cross and Estelle Isom on September 11, 1956. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. At a young age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the Bethel Baptist Church, Alpine, AL. She also attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and Bibleway Church of God, Talladega, AL. On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, Nettie was called home for her eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her father, Dan Cross, mother, Estelle (Isom) Gooden; 6 brothers, Bobby Lewis, Curtis, Elton, Craig, Andrew, and James; 1 sister, Brenda; and son, Franklin. Her love and memories will always be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, Lonnie Whitson; son, Carlos Twymon; daughters, Tiffani and Nakisha Twymon; stepdaughter, Lonnisha Canady; stepson, Damion Hopkins; sisters, Diana Kelley, Debra J. (Lernert) Patton, Melba Gooden, and Jacqueline Gooden; 6 grandchildren, Dezmond, Tatyana, Cameron, Ashlee, Keiston, and Ja'Niah; 3 step-grandchildren, Brocker, Alyssa, and Au'Brielle; 2 great-grandchildren, Essence and Raegan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
