Nicholas Lanod Keith

Nicholas Lanod Keith, age 44, of Talladega, Alabama, peacefully passed away on July 5, 2025. A devoted brother, beloved uncle, and loyal friend, Nicholas lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for his radiant smile, generous heart, and the gentle way he uplifted those around him. Born on December 30, 1980, in Talladega, Alabama, Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, James Herschel Keith Sr. and Lillie C. Keith; his grandmother, Velle Lee Phillips and his brothers, Bruce Benjamin, Tyrone Jordan. Nicholas had a passion for life reflected in the things he loved most- working on old model cars, cooking for his loved ones, and spending time outdoors hunting. Whether behind a grill, under a hood, or out in nature, he was most at peace doing what he loved. His devoted siblings survive him: James Keith Jr. of Talladega, AL; Kelvin Keith (Tiffany) of Atlanta, GA; and his sister, Sakenee J. Curry (James) of Talladega, AL. He also leaves behind his former wife, Kimberly Jackson of Sylacauga, AL, with whom he shared many meaningful years and a lasting friendship. Nicholas is lovingly remembered by his cherished nieces and nephews: Shanteia Beavers, Micah Jones, Jazlyn Caldwell, Carson Smith, Colby Smith, Jalisa, Jeremy, "Big Man," and Jerrica. He is also survived by his aunts: Patricia Pryor (Anthony) of Augusta, GA; Jacqueline Johnson of Opelika, AL; and Alice Stockdale of Talladega, AL. His uncles include Larry Phillips (Chae) of Washington, D.C.; Danny Phillips (Laverne) of Talladega, AL; Bruce Phillips of Talladega, AL; and honorary uncle Allan G. "Blackie" Stockdale of Talladega, AL. Nicholas Keith will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kind soul, his love for family, and his unwavering generosity. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be 12N at Antioch Baptist Church on July 19, 2025.
