Thomas "Top Cat" Truss, Jr.

Funeral service for Deacon Thomas Truss, Jr. 62, "Top Cat" will be Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 11 am at the God's Temple AOH Church of God,151 Oakwood Drive, Ragland, AL 35131. Assistant Overseer Elder Julius Woods, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Truss passed away on August 24, 2025. Deacon Truss remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Visitation will be Saturday, 1 pm until 6 pm. He graduated from Lincoln High School in the Class of 1982. He later graduated from Ayers Technical College and earned a certificate in Auto Mechanics. He then entered the workforce at Riverside Refractories (Allied Minerals) and retired after 40 years of devoted service. He was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at God's Temple AOH Church of God. Survivors include his wife: Gloria Truss; his sons: Cortez Truss and Lewis Truss; his brothers: Bishop James (Debbie) Truss, Sr., Bishop Lorenza (Finestra) Truss, Stevie (Katrina) Hall; sister: Elder Alice (Bishop James) Collins; mother in-law: Rosa Williams; brothers in-law: Deacon David (Linda) Howard, Boyd Jr., Bobby McSwain, Leo Williams; sister in-law: Gail (Eddie) Conley; a special cousin: Diane Collins; special nieces and nephews: Mack and Gene McCluney, James Truss Jr., Bishop Willie (Arnetria) Howard, Laquita (Andre) Dye, Jamaal Curry; dear friends: Joe (Sheree) Dunn, Carlos Curry, Anthony Burt, Henry Cannon, and Seltzer Chapman Jr., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Truss, Sr., and Emma Jean Truss, sisters, Susie Hunter, Shirley Howard, Elder Minnie McCluney, Negretta McCluney, brother in-law, Jerry Collins, nieces, Angela McCluney, Jeanette Truss, nephews, LeNard Curry, Corey Truss, Robert "Too Sweet" McCluney.
