Willi Pepper Obituary

Willi Ann Pepper (Littleton) passed away the morning of August 30, 2025, in Fresno, California, surrounded by family. She was known for her wisdom, charisma, and deep care for others. Willi was born to William Owen and Mary Ann Littleton in Jemison, Alabama on May 16, 1942. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle "Shelli" Pepper (Patrick Turner), granddaughter Audrey Turner, brother Roger Lynn Littleton, nephew Daryl Earley, and niece Darlene Andrews. She loved her brother, Randy Littleton, and sister, Alyce Earley, both of whom predeceased her. She is reunited with her husband of almost 60 years, Charles Pepper, with whom she fell in love at Childersburg High School. Willi and Charlie led an adventurous life and lived in more than 15 locations as he enjoyed his career in the United States Air Force. Prior to leaving Alabama for their travels, Willi had the good fortune to once hold Joe Namath's knee while working at a doctor's office. Willi had friends throughout the world, and she thought of them often. She and Charlie finally settled down in Fresno in 2007 to be closer to Shelli and Audrey and to make the transitions of later life easier on them. Her loyal brother, Roger, and dear friend, Ann Marie Ives, traveled to Fresno often to see her and spend time with her. She was incredibly funny and disarmingly direct with a gracious manner. She enjoyed her friends at San Joaquin Terraces and playing bridge often. She was a lover of dogs and cats alike, notably Prince, Alice, and Toby. Her beloved dog Sunshine was her constant companion of more than ten years and she had recently adopted the neighborhood cat, Cali. She adored playing tennis for most of her adult life and would have been watching the US Open had she not been called home at such an inopportune time. Willi was loved by many and lived a fulfilling life. She will be missed beyond measure. Donations in Willi's name to honor her memory may be made to https://www.uab.edu/medicine/alzheimers/give and request the give go towards
Lewy Body Dementia research, a cause she cared deeply about. A Celebration of Life is planned for October 18, 2025.
