Gary Ryan Obituary

Gary Ryan,

80

Gary Franklin Ryan was born in Billings, MT, on June 12, 1945, to Shirley and Jack Ryan. He attended schools in Billings and graduated from what is now the University of MT. He soon settled in Kalispell where he appraised properties and was affiliated with Glacier Bank.

He was interested in photography and had more than ample beauty in the Flathead Valley to explore. He enjoyed hiking and skiing in the early days with Pamela Duchesneux who he married in August 1985! Her brother, Ferd, and his wife Rose, more recently have been instrumental in lovingly facilitating the life changes for Pam and Gary.

Sadly, Gary passed away on August 30. He survived by Pam of Kalispell; his sister Cathy Bower, nieces Cristin Markovich (Bob), of Billings, and Caralee Bower and her son Wiley of Vashon, WA. Gary was the best brother and a good father figure. We all benefited from his sense of humor and gentle guidance. He will be greatly missed.

Gary Ryan, one of the kindest, most thoughtful gentleman I have ever met in my life, his kindness was beyond special.
I became a member of this super family on 6-25-2004 @ 6:30 pm when I married my soul mate, history niece. he came up to me at the reception & said well Bob welcome to the family with his hand out , I declined the hand & gave him a MONSTER HUG. He said oh my , I said get ready you will be getting more of those from now on. In 2010, for the 1st time for me,we visited him & Pam in Kalispell. I loved it. We then went on a continuous every other year trip starting in 2017. He did a lot for my wife & I. In visiting , I believed this would be the only way to give back to him as he was a generous man. He always welcome Cristin & I, with open arms &really making us feel welcome. Along with his visits to Billings & the family cabin with his super sister, I will treasure these moments, for the rest of my life, along side his sense of humor & his caring personality. He will be missed. However hes in our God's kingdom now..We will meet him again. One Sweet Day.

Gary and my brother Gary taught me to drive. Gary was, in my experience, a kind, gentle person.
