Nancy Baker Obituary
Nancy P. (Stout) Baker, age 90 passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Compass Park Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Nancy was born August 16, 1935 in Sandy Springs, Ohio to her parents, the late Oval and Irene (Haines) Stout. She was a 1953 graduate of Manchester High School.
Nancy married Dwain "Dee" Baker on August 12, 1977 in Ft. Campbell, Tennessee. They shared 42 devoted years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Nancy was a past Matron of the Trafalgar Eastern Star #423, and Past Royal Matron of Daylight Court #31, Order of the Amaranth. She also was Past Grand Royal Matron, serving as the state's presiding officer from 2016-2017. Nancy served as State President of America War Mothers from 2003 to 2005 and was a member of the Alexander Hamilton Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Dedicated to service, Nancy volunteered at the Indiana Masonic Home and the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. She took great joy in helping others and had a special passion for supporting veterans - crocheting mittens and hats for homeless vets and collecting clothing for those in need.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her children, Grant (Sheri) Levy of Costa Mesa, California, Gregory Hall of Clay Township, Michigan, E. Dean (Casondra) Hall of Marysville, Ohio, Sara (Christopher) Coles of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and her grandchildren Desmond Coles of Austin, Texas and Katherine Coles of Upper Arlington, Ohio as well as Nancy's beloved sister Elizabeth Easter of Georgetown, Texas. Nancy is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Skip, who now resides in Ohio with Nancy's daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Dee.
The Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18th in the Ransford Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home: 690 State Street in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the Ransford Chapel. During the service, an Order of the Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth Service will be held. A private inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
