Edwin Paul Remmers, 80, of Saint Clair Shores, Mich., died Tuesday, July 21, 2015. He was born Sept. 7, 1934, son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Roebbel) Remmers.
His parents and son Kurt Remmers preceded Mr. Remmers in death.
Survivors include sister Dorothea Wirz of Saint Louis; nieces Sandra Wirz and Mary Lou Byrum; nephew David Wirz; as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
Edwin was known as Paul by his family and friends. He was originally from rural Iron County (the Flatwoods community). The Remmers family later moved to St. Louis. Paul had many fond memories of spending some of his summer vacation from school with the Joseph and Essie (Royer) Allgier family in Flatwoods.
Mr. Remmers worked for many years as a research engineer with General Motors.
A memorial service was held Aug. 9 at Bryson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Ironton Masonic Cemetery.
