Robert Remmers Sr.

1938 - 2025

Robert Remmers Sr., age 87, of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the V.A. Medical Center in Kerrville, Texas.

He was born June 20, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to Paul and Ruby Lee Henley Remmers.

Robert married Irene Elizabeth Langehennig on July 26, 1958 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fredericksburg, Texas.

Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955, served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967 and 1971-1972, receiving multiple Bronze Star medals for valor, and retiring in 1975.

He also worked for Allen Keller Road Construction for over 20 years, working his way up to foreman.

Robert is survived by his four children and their spouses:

Debbie and Charles Taft of Copperas Cove, Texas

Kim and Gary Welch of Kerrville, Texas

Sherry Kasper of Fredericksburg, Texas

Robert and Linda Remmers Jr., of Kingsland, Texas

14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren

Brother-in-law and spouse: Arthur and Gwen Langehennig of Fredericksburg, Texas

Brother-in-law and spouse: Norman and Jean Merz of Fredericksburg, Texas

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; grandchildren, Winston Welch and Haeli Lingo; son-in-law, Kelly Kasper, and sibling, Larry Maples.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 5, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home.

Graveside services with full military honors and interment followed at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation for Robert Remmers was held on Monday, January 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home.
