PARK HILLS - Marie Elizabeth Whitworth Holloman, 89, jitterbugged away as an angel November 15, 2013, in Sandy, Utah. She was born August 12, 1924, in Ironton, Mo., the only child of Isaac Eugene and Mary Lela Gregory Whitworth. She married Randall Holloman November 20, 1948, in Paragould, Ark. They lived in Elvins for many years before Randall's job took them to Idaho, Oregon and Washington. After Randall's death in 1987 and before moving to Utah to be near her daughter and family in 1999, she resided in Desloge.
She attended Central Methodist College and worked for the Department of the Army and Hanna Mining Company. Family, animals, traveling, music and service to others were Marie's loves. Intelligent, funny, and full of spunk, she played piano by ear and danced to Big Band music at every opportunity. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Park Hills, Marie treasured her association with the congregation.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband and a stillborn son. Survived by her daughter, Susan (LaMar) Jonsson of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandchildren, Stephanie Jonsson of Salt Lake City and Greg Jonsson (Reagan Branham) of St. Louis; and loving nieces and nephew Ellynn Barnicle, Beth Taylor, Linda Dosing, Margo Barker, Steve Ira and their families.
Visitation will be held at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Eddie Bone officiating. Interment will be at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elvins Food Pantry, 17 West Main, or the Farmington Pet Adoption Center, www.farmingtonpet.org
