FARMINGTON – Michael "Mike" Easter, 79, passed away peacefully December 8, 2022, at Camelot Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Farmington. Mike was born October 2, 1943, in Ironton, Missouri, the eldest son of Roy (Bunny) and Virginia Easter.
He was predeceased by his parents; along with his beloved brothers, Steven and Joel; and sister-in-law, Nedra.
Mike is survived by his son Mark and daughter-in-law Liz; Mark's mom, Barbara Harris; nephews, Chad (Candy) Easter, Matt (Danielle) Easter, Jody Easter, and Jordan Easter; niece, Jenny (Deric) Cofield; along with grand-nieces, Lexy and Audrey; and grand-nephews, Isaac and DJ; sister-in-law, Rachel Easter; and numerous cousins, and countless special friends.
Mike retired from Mineral Area College in 2018 where he worked as Director of Assessment and Counselor since 1998. Prior to MAC he was the guidance counselor and chemistry instructor at Bismarck High School from 1973 to 1998 and biology and chemistry instructor at the University of Missouri-Columbia Laboratory School from 1966 to 1973. In these roles over his fifty-plus year career in education, Mike impacted innumerable students, several of whom maintained contact with him until the present day.
Along with his family and educational pursuits, Mike loved traveling, cooking, Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey, Mizzou football, rock & roll, and importantly, his 27-plus years of sobriety.
Mark and Liz would like to thank the amazing staff at Camelot and the nurses/angels who work at Serenity Hospice, in particular Amy and Stacy, who made Mike's passage as peaceful a transition as possible. In keeping with Mike's love of science, he donated his body to the medical center at the University of Missouri-Columbia, his alma mater. At Mike's request, there will be no services, but donations in Mike's name are encouraged to Serenity Hospice, 5272 Flat River Rd., Park Hills, MO 63601 or at https:/www.serenityhc.org/give-a-gift/ so they can continue to provide the incredibly important services families need.

I echo Greg Heifner. As well he was my teacher at U High and I can say undoubtedly he was the most memorable instructor in my life. A great influence. We travelled to New Orleans my senior year to participate in the Junior National Academy of Science science fair. I wish I had taken the time to backtrack and tell him how much he had done for me. I´m sure countless others held him in the same esteem.

This news hurts my heart very deeply. My High School Class is a Bismarck RV from 74-78. I worked in the High School office. Spent a lot of time in Mike's office. I have really great, great, memories of many conversations with him. We even kept in touch throughout the many years after High School. He was the very best High School Counselor that a school could ever have. My prayers are with the Easter family.

Mike was amazing man. He always had a smile. He was quite the dancer. My mom danced with him when they were young and I danced with him when we were young--because he was always young.
