Richard Edward Whaley, Sr.
DESLOGE – Richard" Rick" Edward Whaley, Sr., age 73, of Park Hills, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at his residence. Rick was born Friday, May 28, 1948, in Bonne Terre, to the late, Harold and Christine Whaley. He worked at Dolomite in Bonne Terre for 30 years where he retired. He then drove a school bus and was custodian for Central Elementary School in Park Hills, where he retired after 16 years. From the age of 13 until recently, Rick enjoyed running his rabbit dogs. He loved and enjoyed all of his grandkids.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Dorene (Harrison) Whaley; children, Rick (Veronica) Whaley, Jr., Cyle Lybarger, Tyler (Brandi) Lybarger, and Joshua Lybarger; grandchildren, Breanna Whaley, Kannon Lybarger, Chandler Lybarger, Haddie Lybarger, Tatum and Blakelynn Lybarger; siblings, Mike (Pat) Whaley of Jackson, Luanna Petty of Meridan, Kansas, Lueanna Whaley of Tipton, Indiana, Jim (Janet) Whaley of Desloge; sister-in-law Judi Hirte of Chester, Illinois; special friend Quintin Huck of Ste Genevieve; Donna (Lee) Williams of Terre Du Lac, Cheryl Ferguson of Park Hills. Rick is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Whaley.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. View obituary and share condolences online at www.czboyer.com.
