Alfred Baldwin Obituary

Alfred C Baldwin of Coatesville, Pa. It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Charles Baldwin, 86, of Coatesville, PA, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 9, 2016 at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL. He was the beloved husband of Hilda (Johnson) Baldwin with whom he shared his life for 61 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Gary J Baldwin, and fiancé Elaine Moyer of Coatesville, PA, his daughter Sharon (Baldwin) Willis, her husband Brian Willis of Coatesville, PA, and his daughter Tracy Baldwin of Salem, SC; two loving grandchildren Daniel Baldwin and Brandi Baldwin as well as two great grandchildren, Connor Baldwin and Savannah Baldwin; his sisters Margaret (Peggy) Plank of Lancaster, PA, Jo Arlene Baldwin of Coatesville, PA and his brother Barry J Baldwin, husband of Linda (Heaps) Baldwin of Gap, PA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Ned, Clement E. (Bus), Edith Mae (Dolly), Robert I. (Bob) and William D. (Bill) Baldwin. He was born on April 17, 1929 in Caines, PA to the late Clement C. and Anna (Davis) Baldwin. Alfred was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Compass, PA. Alfred was the owner/operator of Hidden Acres campground in Coatesville, PA, where he spent most of his time happily working with his family by his side. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Alfred was part owner of Baldwin’s Garage and Baldwin’s Used Cars in Gap, PA with his brother Robert (Bob) Baldwin where he enjoyed going to the car auctions to buy and sell cars for the car lot and his customers. He loved spending the winters in Florida and had been a winter resident in Inverness, FL since 2007, there he loved sitting on the screened back porch in the warm weather by the lake watching the ducks and the birds at the bird feeder and rides on his pontoon boat. His joy was spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family under the care of Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL made private cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1520 W. Kings Highway, Gap, PA 17527. No memorial is scheduled at this time; the family will have a private celebration of life to be announced later with friends and family. Alfred taught us a lot about how to live, how to love, and how to give. You will always remain in our hearts and may our memories of you get us through this difficult time. We love you Dad, Alfred, Pop Pop; you will forever remain in our hearts. shiveryfuneralhome.com

It will be so hard not stopping in to talk to Alfred or seeing him ride through the campground on his cart or just relaxing in front of the store waving to everyone as they entered. It will be some of the great memories we can all cherish of a great man. We love you and will miss you. I was blessed to know you and your loving family.
