Carol J. Zurlo of West Chester Carol J. Zurlo, 80 of West Chester, Pa. died Sunday October 18, 2015 at McCarthy Care Center in Cape Cod, Mass. Born June 23, 1935 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late Joseph DeStefano and the late Edna Bigwood DeStefano. She attended Girls Latin School in Boston, Mass. and received her Master’s in Education from Simmons College in Boston, Mass. Carol had worked as a school teacher at Peirce Middle School for 26 years. She was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester. Near and dear to her heart were her quilt club, book club and water aerobics. Donating her handmade treasures to those in need was also important to her. She was an avid New England sports fan. She was our beloved mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by all. Carol is survived by her children Dina Silver (Bob) of Springfield, Va., Jaren M. Zurlo of West Chester, Pa., Glen A. Zurlo (Kathy) of Millersville, Md. and Kara J. Delaney (Bo) of Marstons Mills, Mass.; and 13 beloved grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jay Zurlo. Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 31 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 730 S. New Street, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester.
