Claire Dale Obituary

Claire (Dilley) Dale of Lionville, Pa. Claire (Dilley) Dale, , age 71, of Lionville, Pa. died on August 29, 2012. Claire was born in Kingston, Pa. After graduating from Bloomsburg University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1963, she devoted her time to children, working in the Downingtown and West Chester School districts and later as a Teaching Assistant at the Devereux Day School. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at the Chester County Hospital Gift Shop. She was pre-deceased by her parents Esther (Roberts) and Robert Dilley and her sister Jeanne Morehouse of Wilkes Barre, Pa. She is survived by her husband of 46 years Franklin Dale, her daughter Jennifer Lynch (Gerald), her son Jonathan Dale (Kimberly), her sister Ruth Wallison of Vail, Ariz. and three grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Central Presbyterian Church, 100 West Uwchlan Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. Claire was my first friend in Kingston growing up. We lived on the same street and walked to school every day. We remained best friends all through high school, attending the same church and singing together in the choir. I was in her wedding to Franklin. I think of her especially on her birthday in October. I miss you Claire.

We are so sad to hear Mrs. Dale's passing. She was a big part of our childhood and a great friend to our parents. We truly feel blessed to have known her.
