So sad to hear of Dave Adams' passing.
Dave was like an uncle to me. I worked for him for most of the decade of the 80's. He was generous man, sharing his vast knowledge of landscaping, offering chances to advance at his company, allowing me to borrow a truck when mine was being repaired, loaning me a few dollars when I was short on money. One of the unique things I will always remember Dave would do for his employees is always give us a fresh Turkey with all the trimming for each employee to take home to his family on Thanksgiving!!
Dave was a tireless worker, out plowing snow late at night and up early for work. Dave gave many other local younger people in our area a chance at a job that taught the value of hard work, and more importantly, the type of life lessons that can never be taught in any school.
Long after my days of working with Dave up until just a few months ago, we would see each other at Brandywine Prime, the Chadds Ford post office or Giant. He always had a minute to talk. When I would stop in at his shop, He would happily let me take a few hundred gallons of water from his shop or borrow a tool, or share advice.
Dave loved Chadds Ford, it's history and the people who live here. He was a true one of a kind person and he will be missed.

Thank you, Dave, for always having a kind word and a welcoming smile. I was always happy to see you knowing there would be no judgement, no high-handed comments, just warm conversation and true friendship.

Dave was literally one of the first people I met when I moved to this area almost 14 years ago. It was my first time at the Gables. He was friendly and welcoming and our friendship continued from that day forward. As someone else mentioned, he always greeted me with, "You know I love you, right?" to which I would always reply, "I know Dave. I love you too!" He will be greatly missed. Prayers to his family and loved one.

Our sincerest sympathy goes out to David's family. Dave was the best man at our wedding more than twenty years ago. He was kind, funny and just a great guy to be around. Whenever you ran into him, you were greeted with a big hug, as was the case less than 2 weeks ago when we saw him in the grocery store. We will always remember him with great fondness and affection and smile whenever we hear his name.

It is with great sorrow that we (the members of the 1963 class of the Unionville High School) learned of the passing of Dave. Many of us had friendships that started in the Chadds Ford Elementary School and continued when we moved to the high school. Some of us also knew Dave from our association with the Adams family at the Brandywine Baptist Church in Chadds Ford.
Our prayers go out to Kathy and Steven and their families, both near and far.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of a dear friend. Even though we did not see Dave that often after we moved to Florida, we always felt he was a part of our family. Our prayers and thoughts to Dave's family at this sad time.

Just a devastating loss. Dave had become such a big part of my life, and my family's, especially my son Brian. Dave was like a second father to him. Dave was a daily part of my life. I'll so miss seeing him at his house, shop or happy hour. I'll particularly miss spending time with Dave and Brian as they worked on too many projects to count. Dave loved to ask you know I love you, right? Many of us were asked that question. We knew he did, and hope he knew we loved him too. We will miss you, Dave. Paul Bartkowski
