David Webber Obituary

David Vaughan Webber of Oxford, formerly of Chadds Ford David Vaughan Webber passed away on April 24, 2015. He was 80 years old. Born in Attleboro, Mass., David was the son of the late Alfred Webber and the late Margaret Vaughan Webber. David was a 1953 graduate of Kennett High School. He furthered his education at Penn State University where he studied aeronautical engineering. He enhanced his skills in the United States Air Force. David was a member of the flying club at Stewart AFB and flew home in T-34 Trainers and Special Super Cub aircraft. Here at home, David was an instructor at the New Garden Airport where he enjoyed flying gliders. David retired as a quality control inspector for several facilities. He oversaw construction operations at the Salem Nuclear Plant. He was a dedicated volunteer at the American Helicopter Museum in West Chester and at the local cat shelter. His association with the Delaware Woodworkers Guild, David earned awards for his marquetry and toys. He loved the experience of the Appalachian Trail, especially Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Memorial donations would be appreciated to the American Helicopter Museum or the Kennett Symphony. Services will be private. Condolences to www.longwoodfuneralhome.com
