Dear Armstrong Clan,
I just now learned of Gary's death via social media. I am so very sorry for your loss. Gary was a frequent visitor to the Walker household on North Chester Road, as he was a good friend of my brother Michael.
Gary was so very kind to me, the kid sister. He was loving and mild, and loved to tease me by calling me "teddy bear!" I remember Garry and Mike being in our basement trying to sand the tracks of our old train set, and all of the times they would laugh and listen to music together.
From my perspective, Garry's gentleness and kindness are his legacy, and a strong indicator that he came from a home which valued those attributes.
I am sorry that I missed the services. I would want to be there to support the Armstrong family, as you have been by the side of the Walkers for as long as I can remember.
May peace be yours,
Maria Walker Leach

Sorry for your loss. My husband worked with Gary for 30+ years at Ball Corp. I met Gary a few times over those 30 years and always thought of him as a kind soul. May Gary be at peace and continue his journey in Heaven with God by his side. Kathy & Scott Christy

I"m so sorry for your loss I met your son through Terri Phiel and her brother Kurt. I have very fond memories of Gary he had a very kind heart and especially a kind soul.
I always had fun with Gary and we did camp a lot and had great times together. He taught me a lot while camping how to cook many things in foil. I will always remember his smile and kindness and how he made me laugh and enjoy life. He will be missed by all who knew him and shared time with him. Stacey Van Zanten

To Gary's family, I wish to offer my most sincere condolences. My heart is heavy with sorrow. I know that there are no words that will ease your pain during this most difficult time; however, I hope that you find consolation knowing how many lives Gary touched throughout his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
In memoriam, Gary has always and will forever occupy a special place in my heart. He was the first man that I ever truly loved. His love of life and adventure was contagious. I remember we used to go camping rain or shine and often with our golden retriever, Dustin, in tow. Gary was the most easy going, kind and caring man. I loved the way he could make me laugh. I have wonderful memories of our times together and I will cherish those memories always.
May you rest in peace my friend.
