Jack Farren Brainard

1940 - 2016

Jack Farren Brainard, 76, of Exton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Regena R. Bates Brainard, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born on March 15, 1940, in Painesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Irma N. Farren Brainard. Jack grew up in Fairport, Ohio and that is where he met the love of his life, Regena, when they were children. Jack worked hard his entire life to provide for his family and give back to his community. He is remembered as the guy who was always there to lend a hand to whoever was in need in any way he could. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army and spent time overseas in Germany. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his two children, Cynthia R. Andrews (Edward T., III) and Bryan R. Brainard (Sandra); a brother, Gary L. Brainard (Margaret); four grandchildren, Ashley (Dennis), Branden, Christy and Farren and by a great granddaughter, Amelia Rae. He was predeceased by his brother, Max C. Brainard. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends will be received from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Interment will be private with the family.
