James Purring Obituary

Jim Purring, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family on September 19, 2016 at Brandywine Hall. He was the husband of Elizabeth Baker Purring.
Born in Narberth, he is pre-deceased by his parents, Alexander James and Ethel Mae, his sisters Ethel Mae and Judy, and son Eric.
Jim had a great passion for life and lived it to the fullest. His many interests included gardening, photography and vintage airplanes, the greatest being the P-51 Mustangs which were flown by the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII.
Jim is survived by his wife; children Michael (Betsy) John (Lisa) and Leila; grandchildren Levi, Brent, Eric, Alyssa, Amy, Jesse, Lucas, Phillip and Arianna; great grandchildren Bryce, Felix Jr. and Miles; many nieces and nephews; his godson Alexander James III and countless friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jim's life on Sunday, September 25, at 12 noon at the home of Liz and Jim.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's honor to the MS society.

We had the pleasure of spending time with Jim, Liz and their dog at Brandywine Hall. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, and we are grateful for his kindness and joy that he so often shared - even with our dog Trixie.
