James Thompson Obituary

James Larry Thompson Sr. of Coatesville James Larry Thompson, Sr., 78, Monday, died June 11, 2012, at his home. He was the husband of Anne Yoch Thompson, of Coatesville. Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Newlin P. and Audrey Adams Thompson. Jim was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Coatesville. He graduated from Downingtown High School. He was retired from Bell of Pennsylvania, where he worked for many years. Jim served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and camping. In addition to his wife, Anne, Jim is survived by his daughter, Kelly Wobrak and her husband Robert of Lancaster and four sons, Michael of Coatesville, Robert and his wife Susan of Coatesville, Mark and his wife Samantha of Parkesburg, and Paul and his wife Wendy of Coatesville; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Stine of Downingtown. Jim was predeceased by his son, James L. Thompson, Jr., his granddaughter, Jennifer and his brother, Donald. Jim's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at St. Cecilia Church, 6th Avenue and East Chestnut Street, Coatesville. Family and friends may call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at Wentz Funeral Home, 342 East Chestnut Street, Coatesville, 610-384-0318. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, West Brandywine.
