John G. Norman

John G. Norman of Downingtown John G. Norman, age 90 of Downingtown, Pa. passed away on August 12, 2014. The Beloved husband of the late Ann E. Norman, John was born on March 31, 1924 in Norwood, Pa. to the late Loyal G. and Lorrine Bechtel Norman. John worked for many years as a data technician at Bell of PA. He was a veteran of W.W. II, where he was a Staff Sergeant and served with the 82nd. Signal Corps on Okinawa. He was Past Fire Chief of Manoa Fire Company and was an Eagle Scout. John was member of Washington Memorial Pipe Band, VFW Post 106 of West Chester. He was the Father of John Charles Norman, Laurie A. Norman, and Daniel L. Norman (Holly), the Grandfather of Timothy, Shannon, April and the late Danielle, and the Great Grandfather of Robbie, Chad, Hailey and Tim. He is also survived by his dog, Nigel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's life celebration service on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Avenue, Malvern, Pa., where friends may visit from 10 to 11a.m. Interment in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Pa.
