Marian D'Attilio Obituary

Marian A. D’Attilio of Downingtown Marian A. D’Attilio, 92, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore E. D’Attilio. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose Poluch Profeto. Marian was a 1942 graduate of Scott High School in Coatesville. For many years she worked in the service industry, providing cleaning services to local businesses. A member of St. Joseph Church of Downingtown for over 60 years, Marian served as a greeter and participated in the Prime Timers group. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and she loved to dance at the Thorndale Inn. Marian also loved to cook Italian dinners, and she was well known by her family for her excellent homemade spaghetti, cream puffs, and pizzelles. Marian is survived by a son, Robert T. (Carole) D’Attilio, of Kimberton; son-in-law, Paul J. Gregor, Jr., of Downingtown; sister, Dolores Romandino, of West Brandywine; brother-in-law, Pete Gracia, of Coatesville; and sister-in-law, Flora Profeto, of Coatesville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and her best friend, Alfreda “Fritzie” D’Ottavio, of Downingtown. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jean M. Gregor; brothers, Danny and Rosmer Profeto; and sisters, Rita Gracia and Marie Slody. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown. Prior to mass, family and friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. in St. Joseph Chapel, inside of St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marian’s memory to Housing Partnership of Chester County, 41 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.
