Mark Harding Obituary

Mark Harding of Sneads Ferry, NC Mark Harding, was born to Edna and John Harding on January 3, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Havertown, PA. He was a graduate of Malvern Preparatory School, where he loved playing baseball and excelled as a third base infielder. After completing his undergraduate degree at La Salle University, he enrolled in the Law Program at Temple University. He completed his studies while working full time during the day in an accounting firm and received his Juris Doctorate from Temple University in Philadelphia, specializing in Estates and Taxation. Mark possessed a passion for NASCAR racing and drove the number 04 Ford Thunderbird for Chilson Motorsports participating in 5 races at Pocono and Michigan Raceways in the ARCA Division. He was a devoted Super Sport fan, his favorite being his 1970 Chevelle SS 396. Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years along with his volunteer fireman duties. After moving to his current home in Sneads Ferry, he created and still maintained his law practice in West Chester, PA and was a co-founder and partner in Mainline Gardens, in Malvern, PA from 1981-2008, a retail garden center and plant nursery. A voracious reader of all books in the military and CIA thriller genre, he also raised turtles until they could be safely released again. Mark was married and devoted to his loving wife, Dotty Ann Harding, for 27 fabulous and memorable years. Having found in each other an alignment of their morals, values and beliefs, they were the perfect pair. Each supporting the other in their separate endeavors that embraced their combined belief in the intrinsic value of helping other people, supporting the armed services, children with special needs, and animal welfare and education. Mark is survived by his three children, Kimberly, Jennifer and Alan; daughter-in-law Adrianna; along with his two brothers and sister. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and colleagues, as well as a host of dear friends who played very important roles in his life. Mark was a private man who used his actions to show the goodness in his heart and love for his wife, whom he adored. We all love you, Mark, and will continue to honor your memory through honest deeds, dedication, and help for those in need. Godspeed in your laps around the track in the 04, we will see you at the Winner’s Circle. The memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31st at the Sneads Ferry Presbyterian Church at 776 Highway 210, Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to his favorite charities, one being St. Joseph’s school that Mark held close to his heart. https://secure3.convio.net/stjo/site/Donation2?df_id=2840&mfc_pref=T&2840.donation=form1&_ga=1.248124551.1215954048.1490722780 Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com

My Mark is greatly missed and remembered every day for his love, kindness and devotion. His special tenderness for all God's creation, compassion and thoughtfulness in everything was natural for him. I am fortunate to have so many memories, remembered conversations, jokes and reminders of the love we shared for each other. My life was made special because of him.

Miss Mark for the friend adviser and the man that he was,we both played baseball ,talked sports all the time, he also recommended several fabulous authors , we both loved and will always love this country and we never understood or agreed with the liberal point of view,His sense of humor was infectious and I never once saw Mark back off from expressing his point of view especially when we discussed the country, know that he is up there looking out for all of us.

Mark was a great man and a great cousin. I remember him growing up, and spending time at the shore with him and his brothers for various family gatherings. When we were real young, my entire family would go to Edna's house for Thanksgiving and sit by the fire for hours. Mark had some fantastic stories about car racing, and always looked fit from his weightlifting pursuits. I last saw him at a post funeral get-together in Narberth (maybe it was me-mom's ?) many years ago... he was hearty, full of life, and had many great stories to tell. He will be missed. SHM

Dotty and Harding Family,
So sorry to hear of Mark's passing, my wife and I are in shock. We have known Mark
since 1982 as a friend and business associate.Mark introduced me to quite a few novelists over the years especially since we both saw the world and America through the same lens.Enjoyed sharing emails over the years with Mark, he was simply not only a great lawyer but also a good man!
The true measure of success for a man is his family and friends and for that Mark has left a hugh void in all our hearts!

I was so sorry to hear about Mark. He was my cousin, but also my Godfather. I have fond memories of him and Johnny and Justin showing up to visit my dad, their Uncle Ed, and ending up staying all night telling stories and drinking around the kitchen table. I always got sent to bed but was excited to wake up in the morning to the smell of my mom making breakfast for everyone. He was one of my dad's 'favorite nephews' (they all were!) and I know that he is sitting around a big table in heaven with my dad, his dad, and Uncles George, Jim and Bill, telling stories and waiting for that breakfast. He had a great laugh and was always just a nice guy.

Dotty - I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Doc and Ellie, Justin and Cathy, Pam - you guys are in my thoughts and prayers as well. I'm so sorry.

Love,
Hannah-Rose (Harding) Pepe
