Pamela Biren Obituary

Pamela Hill Biren died peacefully on 12/15/23 in West Chester, PA. She was 87. Pamela Oaks Hill was born to Arthur D. and Mianne Palfrey Hill in Boston, MA. She lived in the Boston area until attending Smith College and moving to New York City after graduation. There she met and married John M. Slauson. They later moved to Indianapolis and had four children. In 1975 Pamela was one of three women who founded the Julian Mission, now known as the Julian Center, which continues to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other life crises in Indiana. Pamela's second marriage to David R. Biren brought her back east to West Chester, PA where she helped people make work transitions and start new careers. Later in life she received her horticultural certificate from the Barnes Foundation and pursued her passion for gardening. Pamela is survived by her three daughters and David's two sons and a daughter, and their combined 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a women's group of your choice.
