Shirley Klunk Obituary

Shirley J. Klunk of Coatesville Shirley J. Klunk, 72, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, with her boys by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Klunk, Jr., with whom she shared 27 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1992. Born in Lebanon, Va., Shirley was the daughter of the late Samuel Vince and Nora Mae Monk Jessee. She was a 1960 graduate Downingtown High School. Shirley retired from Pepperidge Farm, but most recently worked at Thorndale Beverage. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and for many years, worked alongside her sons. Shirley loved doing crafts; especially making dolls for many new born children and crocheting baby blankets for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her friends, Joyce and Bernie. Mrs. Klunk is survived by her sons, Edward C. Klunk, III and his wife, Megan, of Downingtown and Kevin Klunk and his wife, Kathy, of Morgantown; sisters, Bettie Whiteman and Nancy Duca; and four grandchildren, Jessee, Molly, Lauren, and EJ Klunk. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Sammie Morley, Ann Girard, and Patricia Jessee. The family will be receiving relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12th and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13th, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., all being held at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breathing Room Foundation, P.O. Box 287, Jenkintown, PA 19046. To Shirley's family, my prayers are with you. This is a horrid disease. Hopefully one of these years we will see an end to it. To add a pleasant memory, I enjoyed being a cheerleader with Shirley at Downngtown High School. Fond memories, Be at peace Shirley.

Dear Bettie and family,
