Born in Johnstown, PA on July 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Earl Wagner and the late Mary Jane Harbay Wagner. Shirley was a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She worked for many years in a hospital setting then later as a substitute school nurse. Shirley was also Chairman for Chester County Hospital Bulletin, May Festival, and Chester County Day, just to name a few. Over the past 10 years, she enjoyed volunteering in TCCH Human Resources Office and more recently the main Reception Desk. Shirley was an extremely generous person and a fiercely loyal mother and friend. She was a constant caregiver from an early age when she helped raise her brother. She went on to raise five children and help raise two grandchildren. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester. She is survived by her children Gretchen Howell (Michael), Douglas Minnick (Nancy Wood), Suzanne Minnick, and Rebecca Geracie (Richard); siblings Earl Wagner and Florence Brant; grandchildren Victoria Howell, Zachary Minnick, Sean Howell, Colin Minnick, J. Bradford Geracie and Kathryn Geracie. She was preceded in death by her son, Bradford Minnick. Private Graveside Services will be held in Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester. Brad Minnick was my roommate at Penn State 1986_87. The memories of laughter and adventure are part of me always. Mrs. Minnick was a kind loving woman. I will never forget her strength and composure at Brad' funeral. Our other roommate Jeff Nowak and myself drove down from State College and when we got to the packed Church we sat in the back. Mrs. Minnick had us brought to the family section. I will always remember her compassionate smile. On that day she was the examples that despite our tremendous loss we would get through this. Doug Minnick this is Andy Thomas. I live in Hollywood Fl now and one of my favorite memories is the weekend of the central PA Arts Festival weekend. I pray the best always for Suzie and all of Brad's Family. My email is [email protected]. 754-260-7855

To all the Minnick Family,
My deepest sympathy and love in the loss of your Mom. She gave so much of herself to the community and to her family. You are all very blessed for having so much time to share with her.
I always looked forward to her frequent visits to my office. We would catch up on what all the kids were doing, and the goings on with Chester County Day functions, and just life in general. She was such a gracious lady...I will miss her.
My prayers are with all of you...

Sincerely,
Susan Kelly
