Dear Mrs. Cannon, Patti, and John:
Mike is now happy fishing with Tom, Bill, Carl, and the rest of the old friends and family he loves (and loves him) so very much. Mike made a point to seek us out whenever we came to Ocean Pines for a visit. He filled a huge void for my dad who sadly missed his best friends, Tom and Bill. Mike shared his horse corn with me on mischief night, stuck up for me when I was little, and always made us laugh. What a terrible shock and so sad!

To the Cannon Family I would like you to know that Mike would have been very proud of the arrangements you made for him yesterday.
Jonny you were so mature in handleing the gifts and the casket duties and Uncle Mike would have been very proud.
John you could not have captured Mike better! I was holding it together till you read what you wrote and then it was all over.
We all have such fond memories of Mike that will carry us all through these tough times. I know my self I just think of his anticks and smile.
I really do hope your pain eases with the though he is with his father and at peace.
Sincerely
Mike Popiel

I remember Michael as a man’s man, like his father, a hunter, fisherman, builder, a joker – with no time for self-pity, self-doubt or concern. His chivalry showed in his regard for the needs of others. I will remember our last conversation and your shared memories of my brother -- cousin, in whose company and our Lord’s, I pray your soul readily resides.

Cathy and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I remember him with such fond memories from the get together we had at Carole's when Philip, myself and the girls were visiting. He was such a great character, I especially remember how he joked around with Laura and Abby and made them feel so at home with their US cousins. We are all thinking of you at this very difficult time and will remember you in our prayers. xxx

Cathy and Family. We are saddened to know that Mike will no longer be with us. He was a kind and gentle, life-loving soul. Genuine. We should all take a page from his book and strive to be the same. He will be dearly missed! Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Cathy, Patty & John, As everyone was we were shocked to hear of Mike's death. Even though we hadn't seen him much in the past few years-whenever we met it was like we spoke yesterday. When we saw him at the get together for Philip at Carole's he was his usual affable self. He always reminded me of his Dad and I'm sure they are once again enjoying each other's company. Please know you are in our prayers, Love Franni & Mike Prendergast

To Mike's family: I am so very sorry for your loss. I graduated from high school with Mike and socialized with him often back then. I remember how much fun he was at the 35th reunion. I still have a set of buck antlers he gave me to hang in my house, and I will think of him fondly whenever I look at them. My sincerest sympathies to all.....

Cathy, Patti, John and all the family, what terrible news this was when I heard. Mike was more than a cousin, he was a friend and from when i first met him many years ago, he was always fun to be around. The last time we all gathered at Caroles, he was in such good form and so good to the girls. I know that he's be sharing a beer and a laugh with Tommy now looking down on us. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you all on this sad, sad occasion.

Mike Cannon was my electrician and my friend. I was introduced to Mike by Jim Lodge 12 years ago and will always be grateful to Jim for that introduction. Mike worked on my home and rental properties. He was always there when I needed him. I spoke with Mike last Thursday evening about doing work at a rental property. I called him Friday afternoon about another job and his "fax machine" answered and I remember thinking....Michael, switch it back already.
Mike watched my kids grow up. A few years ago Mike and I were in Dunkin Donuts... in different lines....on opposite sides of the store and he yelled over "saw your boy on the front page of the newspaper today" -- unfortunately "my boy" was not on the front page for a good reason. But that was Mike, honest and sincere and always a story to tell. I will miss him terribly and send my heartfelt sympathy to the Cannon family and all of the rest of his friends.

Mike was the most amazing uncle. Funny, wild, generous, and the life of the party. He was genuine and unique. I'll never forget all of the amazing times we've shared, and everything he's done for me over the years. He will be missed everyday.

Mike was such a special person and larger than life.Just like the Cannon family Mike was very generous and especially wonderful with the kids.
A memory that we will always treasure is when I was unable to bring my boat down to our annual vacation in OCMD,Mike showed up with Johns boat and picked us up and took us all fishing. My children adored Mike from that point on.
Rest in peace my friend,Vacation will not be the same without you.
Sincerely
Mike Popiel
