Billy Culver Obituary
Born in Moscow, Tennessee on December 31st, 1935, he was the youngest of 5 children. Growing up farming, and in the General Store industry, he developed a work ethic that was second to none. Owning and operating a successful grocery business in Oakland for decades, he decided in the 90's to build a furniture and junk store in Whiteville, Tennessee. After turning 70, he set a goal to retire by closing one day a week. A constant man on the go, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, junking and traveling. He once said that his favorite skillet was the one that he bought for $2 and sold for $10. His true pastime passion was traveling with the love of his life, Georgie Perry Culver, his wife of 50 years. She preceded him in death, along with his parents, Corbitt and Ruth Culver, his brothers, Winford Culver, Morris Culver, Junius Culver, and his only sister, Bernice Culver Hendrix.
He leaves his two sons, Donnie Wayne Culver, Sr. (Jorganne) and Billy Jack Culver (Betsy); four grandchildren, Donnie Culver, Jr. "Peanut" (Tonya), Clint Morris Culver (Tabatha), Paige and Forrest; seven great-children and five great-great-grandchildren.
A private interment will be in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery near Oakland on Thursday, January 20, 2022. There will be no visitation.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Wayne Culver, Billy Jack Culver, Donnie W. Culver, Jr., Clint M. Culver, Donnie W. Culver, III (Trey), Robert A. Bryant and Carson B. Culver.
Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center and condolences may be left on our online guestbook at www.PeeblesFuneralHome.com.
