Charles Dorroh Obituary
CHARLES RICHARD DORROH, 88, passed into heaven on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, after a lifetime of enduring faith, family, friends, music, and love. Charles was born in rural Kentucky but moved to Memphis at an early age. He graduated from Whitehaven High School and attended Memphis State University where he ultimately gained his law degree. He served several years in the US Air Force National Guard.
He had an incredible career as a lawyer and retired only to start a new career with the State of Tennessee. Charles was also a dedicated music minister serving with his beautiful wife, Becki, in several churches for over 40 years in the Memphis and North Mississippi area. His passion for music spanned decades, touching the lives of thousands. Even at age 82, he was leading the music at Fellowship Baptist in Hernando, MS.
Charles loved shopping for deals, buying and fixing up cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his twilight years, Charles moved to Raleigh, NC and was active in his senior living community, Abbotswood at Stonehenge, where he continued to be a light to others around him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Joy Tabor Dorroh; his parents, John Richard Dorroh and Doris Grace Garner Dorroh; and his sisters, Margo Dorroh Dixon, and Gloria Dorroh Joiner.
He is survived by his daughters, Dana Dorroh of Raleigh, NC; Ashley Dorroh McAllister and son-in-law Shan McAllister of Olive Branch, MS; son, Derek Dorroh and daughter-in-law, Victoria Dorroh of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves behind amazing grandchildren, Trenton & Elizabeth Dorroh, Anna Kathryn Dorroh, Brendon & Isabel Dorroh, Aegis Emma Joy Dorroh, and Megan Juliana McAllister; and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Coleman Dean Richard Dorroh, Charley Layne Joy Dorroh, and Flora Grace Dorroh.
