Deborah Martin Obituary

Deborah Ann Blakney Martin, FNP-BC, 70, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on March 18, 2025. Debbie was born on June 11, 1954, in Memphis, TN to the late Willie and Mary Blakney. She attended Arkansas State University and the University of Memphis to receive her nurse practitioner credentials. Throughout her career she worked in many different clinics around the midsouth. She also taught nursing at Baptist College in Memphis. In her free time, Debbie enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her family. One of her greatest joys in life was being "Granny" to her grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Leon Martin. She is survived by her son, James Leslie Martin (Jennifer); son, William Daniel Martin (Ashley); son, Jonathan Louis Martin (Jackie); grandchildren: Gavin Alexander Martin, Caleb Kristian Martin, Braden Luke Martin, Lauren Nicole Martin, Garrett Reed Martin, Aubrey Danielle Martin, Skyler Hayse Martin; sister, Betty Blakney Fryar (Ricky); brother, Brian Keith Blakney (Jennifer); nieces, Candace Todd (Michael) and Ashlee Blakney; and her nephew, Cade Blakney. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Brantley Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 4-6 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 24, 2025, also at Brantley. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods.
