Deborah Murphree Obituary
While she had many job titles through the years, her favorite role was as a mom and Mimi. Deborah loved the color purple, hummingbirds, Jesus and her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jackie and Dorothy Gross; brothers, Wayne Gross, Dennis Gross, Luther Gross; sisters, Corrine Lloyd, Maria White, Lisa Lentz; grandson, Matthew Howe; stepson, Tracy Murphree; step-granddaughter, Kayla Murphree Black. Deborah leaves behind her husband, Tommy Murphree; daughters, Mandy Howe (Linn), Tonya Murphree (Chad), Dana Sookraj (Carl); stepsons, Todd Murphree and Jonathan Murphree; sisters; Janice Houston (Larry) and Kay Whaley (Jeff); a brother, Thomas Gross (Debbie); sister in laws: Cathy O'Brannon (Mike), Cathy Gross, Wanda Gross, and Hazel Gross Nelson. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Shelby Howe, Leea Daniel, Jeremiah Sookraj (Madison), Beau Daniel, Emma Sookraj, AJ Sookraj, and Charles Edward Lane; five step-grandchildren: Dustin Murphree, Shane Murphree (Michelle), Chelsea Murphree (Chris), Joe Murphree, Lilly Murphree, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Surretts Cemetery, 9852 Arkabulta Rd. Coldwater, MS 38618.
