Dorothy's Obituary Obituary

Dorothy Amisano, passed away at Baptist East Hospital on Wednesday August 27, 2025, with her sister by her side. Dorothy was born November 4th, 1935, in Memphis TN. She graduated from Whitehaven High School and after a business degree she began working at Equitable Life Insurance and where she worked for over forty years. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Kathrine Amisano. She is survived by her sister Rosmarie Amisano and brother Joe and Ann Amisano and two nephews. Dorothy was a member of the Southern Methodist Church and became a United Methodist when she joined Colonial Park United Methodist Church in 2016. Dorothy was a Sunday School teacher, and an avid reader of the Bible. Later in life Dorothy became a faithful member of the Grace Sunday School class, Joy lunch, active in the UMW and attended several Bible studies learning everything she could about the Bible. There will be a visitation on Tuesday September 2nd at 10am and the service to celebrate her life begins at 11am. Both will be at Colonial Park UMC, 5330 Park Ave, Memphis TN 38119 In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you send a donation to Colonial Park UMC or St. Jude’s Hospital.
