Edith Cohen Obituary

Edith Baumwald Cohen, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Methodist Alliance Hospice Residence. Born in Merrick, New York, on June 15, 1930, Edith was the daughter of the late Max and Annie Baumwald. She was preceded in death by her four older siblings. Edith married the love of her life, the late Dr. Jules B. Cohen. At the time of his death, they were happily married for 55 years.

Mrs. Cohen was a member of Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth Congregation and Sisterhood.

She and her husband loved to travel. When not traveling Edith loved to take care of her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, shopping and antiquing.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Marc A. Cohen (Myrna) of Memphis and Norrin S. Cohen (Patty Herb and her daughter) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one grandson.

Services were held Tuesday, April 27 at the Katzman Memorial Chapel with burial in the Anshei Sphard Cemetery. Canale Funeral Directors had charge.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to Anshei Sphard-Beth El Emeth Congregation or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
