Edna Siano Obituary

Edna "Bitsy" Siano, age 78, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on August 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Bitsy was born on December 13, 1946, and, as a lifelong Memphian and Kingsbury High School graduate, lived a life filled with devotion to her family and community. Bitsy possessed a love for learning and reading which she generously shared with young minds through her work as a librarian and teacher. She dedicated herself to her family and home, creating a place of warmth and caring for all who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Siano, whom she married in 1973. After losing Jerry in 2017, Bitsy carried on his legacy by taking over his businesses and continuing the family traditions precious to them both. Bitsy and Jerry shared a love for bowling and they participated in league play for many years. In addition to Jerry, Bitsy was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Rebecca Aikens, stepdaughter, Maria Siano Turman and step-grandson, Joseph Turman. Bitsy was a devoted and caring mother of seven children, all of whom she deeply loved and cherished. Those left behind who will remember her for her kindness, resilience and gentle strength are her children, Marvin (Trish) Siano and Becky Siano Billings, and her stepchildren, Tony (Lisa) Siano, Tom Siano, Jim (Betty) Siano and Patrick (Susan) Siano. She leaves 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who will forever remember her love and guidance. She also leaves behind her brothers, Marvin (Betty) Aikens Jr. and Harry Aikens. Those special to Bitsy are the many members of her extended family and dear friends. Visitation for Bitsy will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 and the funeral service will be held beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 (901) 767-8930.
