1929 - 2025
Esther Faith Sarner Richman, age 95, resident of La Grange, Tennessee and wife of the late Monroe Richman, departed this life Monday afternoon, April 7, 2025 at her home.
Esther was born June 5, 1929 in Utica, New York, the daughter of the late Samuel Hyman Sarner and Dora Goldstone Sarner. She graduated from Syracuse University in New York and was a homemaker for much of her life. She was married to Monroe Richman, who preceded her in death, and was a resident of Hawaii for 30 years.
Esther, affectionately known as “Queenie”, enjoyed socializing, being a hostess and entertainer, traveling, painting, flowers, gardening, playing Mahjong and eating anything sweet, especially chocolates. She loved her grandchildren. She was always “dressed to the nines” and fond memories were of her and her husband dancing together.
Mrs. Richman is survived by her daughter, Marla Mounce (Erich) of La Grange, TN; two sons, David Richman of Crowley Lake, CA and Craig Richman of Los Angeles, CA; and nine grandchildren, Dina Richman, Rachel Richman, Steven Richman, Grant Richman, Chad Richman, Troy Richman, Devin Candioty, Brian Mounce and Jordan Mounce.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Richman and her brother, Donald Sarner.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 2, 2025, at 4 P.M. in the PineCrest Chapel on the main campus located at 21430 Highway 57. Moscow , TN 38057. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to PineCrest Camp and Retreat Center P.O. Box 36, LaGrange, TN 38046.
