Helen White Adair, age 90, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late Aubrey Adair, departed this life Thursday morning, May 22, 2025 at Christian Care Center of Bolivar, Tennessee.
Helen was born April 8, 1935 in Somerville, the daughter of the late J.D. White and Josie Morrow White. She was employed at Woolco for ten years and was a cook at Lewis Barbecue and Loeb’s Barbecue before her retirement. God, church and her family were dear to Helen and she was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Somerville.
Helen will be remembered for being a praying woman who was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed word search books, working in her flower beds, cooking for her family and sweeping the porch.
Mrs. Adair is survived by her son, David Adair (Linda Suzy) of Somerville, TN; two sisters, Hazel Ferge of Somerville, TN and Dorothy Cannon of Memphis, TN; her daughter-in-law, Corrine Adair of Munford, TN; five grandchildren, Dianna, Rhonda, Brandy, Audrey and Elizabeth; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlynn, Britton, Brady, Piercynn, Brody, David, Josie and Jerry; and three great-great-granddaughters, Alana, Zoë and Victoria.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Adair; four sisters, Velma Thompson, Faye White, Mary Ferge and Sue Childers; and three brothers, Dan White, William White and Howard White.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Adair were held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Leroy Delaney, pastor of New Life Pentecostal Church, officiating. Interment followed in Forty-Five Cemetery at Moscow.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Robert Glover, Richard Glover, Johnny Thompson, Wayne Thompson, John Paul White and David McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Cannon, Brandon Fielden, Jody Vaughan and Justin Vaden.
The family requests that memorials be directed to New Life Pentecostal Church, 90 Locke Road, Somerville, TN 38068.
